In spite of the fact that we can’t praise a cell phone without actually using it, it seems to me that the Nokia N79 is the best candybar handset manufactured by Nokia. This means that even the N82 will no longer carry the title of the best candybar Nseries handset. Just take a look at the following N79 specs:

So far, we know that the N79 is the smallest candybar Nseries handset. It’s also the first candybar Nseries smartphone to offer dedicated music keys. However, these are not enough to make the N79 shine. The following features have been taken from N79 technical specs page.

As the detailed specs list shows, the N79 comes with a BL-6F 1200 mAh battery, supports audio/video streaming, provides a digital stereo microphone, and ads AAC to the audio formats it can record. I believe these are enough to take any Nseries handset one step forward. If the right-mounted speakers are better than those of the N82, I’ll definitely get an N79 as it reaches Iran.

Salam Amir, I personally wish the speaker on N79 were placed on the better posision. Not like the N82 and N78. It would be best if Nokia make it similar to N73.

Well, the issue is that Nokia has long abandoned the concept of N73-like speakers in its Nseries handsets. These days the speakers are either side-mounted (N81 and N95), or right-mounted (N79, N82 and N85). Granted, the N73 could produce the best stereo audio, but, you know, it’s Nokia.

I think these days most Nokia specs look alike with one or two bullets standing out as different. Good businessmen these people from Nokia are.
The only different thing in N79 from N82 really is the digital stereo mike; and even that, I bet, is a low-quality mike that is not really useful for anything. Batterywise, as we know, specs usually are, to put it lightly, optimistic because in real-life users quickly find out that specs do not stand up to the claims.

Also the N79 has a FM transmitter ware the N82 doesn’t have one. I pray that the sound of the N79 speakers are better then what is on the N82.
